INDUSTRIAL VISIT

TO

ICE PLANT

            The department of Mechanical Engineering, B.M. Polytechnic’s College of Engineering organized industrial visits to  GUJARAT INDUSTRIES(ICE PLANT),  on 12^th,13^th and 14^th July  2016 for Mechanical engineering department  students. Visit was organized as per Gujarat Technological University guidelines and recommendations regarding syllabus of THERMAL ENGINEERING-2 and ESTIMATING COSTING AND CONTRACTING  subject of Mechanical Engineering

          Visit was organized with the prior permission and guidance of honourable principal of B.M. Polytechnic, Surat Prof. Amit C. Thakore  and HOD of Mechanical department Mr. Dharmesh Gotawala.

          Mr. Piyush N. Patel, Mr. Dakshesh Patel, Mr. Mangesh Bhadrike and Mr. Nirmal Patel accompanied the students during visit.

          Total 149 students and 4 staff members visited the plants. Students departed the college for visit on 12^th ,13^th and 14^th July  at 10:45 a.m. Morning visit was to ICE PLANT at 11:25 a.m.

         The students were benefited in terms of technical details provided by the company and other aspects of the company.

Points studied in details:

1)    Vapour compression cycle used in ice plant to produce ice.

2)    Refrigerant used and its different properties.

3)    Working of complete vapour compression cycle used for production of ice.

4)    Use of brine solution as secondary refrigerant in evaporator.
